XD memory cards, is there a difference between "M" and unlabeled xD olympus cards?

I have an Olympus digital camera and I am looking to upgrade from a 64MB xD picture card to a 1 or 2 GB. My card just says:

OLYMPUS

xD

xD-Picture Card

64MB

But the ones on eBay say:

OLYMPUS

xD

xD-Picture Card

M1GB (or M2GB)

What is this Type-M, and what are the other types, if any?

XD memory cards, is there a difference between "M" and unlabeled xD olympus cards?
There three types of xD Cards... made by olympus

1 - xD card - First model supports upto only 512MB capacity

2 - xD card Type M - released in feb 2005 type M - supports max of 8 GB (Theortically) but only 2GB available....suffers from slower Read/Write speeds...

3 - xD Card type H - released in Nov 2005 Supports upto 2 GB and 3 times faster than type M and Special effects....both speeds of transfer and special effects such as panning should be supported feature in your camera.

Before buying it's worth check the manual of your camer if it supports 1 or 2 GB cards.....

Hopefully this helps...

I am still hearing that fake cards are still being sold. EBay is doing a lot to solve this problem, but until they do, you may want to buy your cards from an electronics store.

Here is the link that will answer most your questions.
