Can I use something besides Kodak? I'm also looking for something under the $30 price range.
What memory cards are needed for Kodak's Easy Share M853?
A 2 gigabyte SD card may be somewhat of an overkill since that's about 635 hi-quality, low compression pictures. A 1-gig card is more practical and usable and you can break up a set of two cards in order to allow prints to be generated while another card is in place in the camera. One gig cards are on sale for $10.00 at samys.com.
