How do they only have 8 MB of memory on ps2 memory cards but up to 4GB of memory on the Duo cards for psp.....

i know its about price but with the size of the ps2 memory card u should fit in at least 1 Gb of memory for the price they have them at today. Or is a MB bigger then GB or do they hold different types of memory.???

1000 MB = 1 GB. The answer is that the technology for the PS2 memory cards is almost 7 years old. The flash memory technology at today's level was not available back in 2000 with the PS2 launched.
Reply:PS2 memory cards are designed to hold game saves only.. while the PSP memory card are designed to hold game saves and music, movies, pictures and such..
Reply:No, a gigabyte (GB) is bigger than a megabyte (MB). I would imagine the reason for the amount of space on the PSP cards is because they're designed to hold music and movies, which take up a lot more space than save game files--which is all the PS2 memory cards are designed to hold.
