Some devices won't work throuh a wireless, bluetooth or USB hub. Others do. You can only try it to find out.

If you have USB 2.0, make sure that you get a USB 2.0 hub.
Reply:Will the Bluetooth device work when plugged directly to the laptop's USB port? If so, repeat the Bluetooth driver installation with the setup exactly as you want it (through the hub). That worked? Great, but read on to understand why - and contribute to better software.

Some USB driver software is "dumb" enough to be fooled when you move the device to another USB location. If installation through the hub now works, hope the folks who sold you that Bluetooth driver have an update by now, that is "smarter". Otherwise you'll have to plug in everything "just so" (and perhaps even in the same order) before the Bluetooth will work again, because USB ports are assigned dynamically.

I get so frustrated with poor-quality Windows software, preferring Linux, which just works. If open source software DOESN'T work, those with talent can download the source, program the solution, and share the improvement back to the community. Those without the skill to program can contact the developer(s) directly - and be appreciated for making the bug report.

If Windows worked that way, it could - after a lot of agony - become great too.

Good luck!
