There are both third-party and first-party memory cards. The PS2 is designed to use 8mb memory cards, as the official memory cards only come in that size. Third party memory cards do come in larger sizes up to 64mb, but they are very prone to breaking and data corruption. Most game saves are rather small and there is really not a reason to get a 64 mb memory card. I only have 2 memory cards between my 30+ games, so just stick with the official sony memory cards an you will be fine.
How many types of ps2 memory cards are there? Is there such a thing as a 64 MB PS2 Memory Card or not?
There are unofficial, third-party developed memory cards with greater than 8MB. Take a look here: http://www.play.com/Product.aspx?r=PS2%26amp;t...
...for a 64 MB card. Or look here: http://www.dvd.co.uk/GHw/Max-Drive-128MB...
This takes advantage of USB pen drive technology. And neither of these items are especially expensive.
However, these products aren't endorsed by Sony, so you may want to keep those especially precious saves on your official memory card.
