There are so many types of cards available, SD, XD, CompactFlash, MemoryStick, Microdrive, MMC.
My question is why so many? I know there is reason for some, such as, MicroSD cards so they can fit into small devices, but why not have one standard form, everything would be simpler then.
Why are there many different types of memory cards available?
people have more buying power than others. Why are there so many different cars on the market?
Why are there so many cuts of meat at the grocery?
You get the idea......Things are offered to the buying public according to their particular needs, tastes, likes, and dislikes.

Reply:cuz some cameras have to have a certain kind and no 1 wants to take the time to change the system
Reply:When people buy more and more games, they need more space.That is why they make more different memory cards.
