When shopping for memory cards, do brands really matter?

I'm shopping around for a 1GB SD memory card for my new Canon PowerShot camera, and I was wondering, do brands of memory cards really matter? If they do, which brand do you recommend? Thanks in advance!

When shopping for memory cards, do brands really matter?
Brands don't matter anymore, for anything.

Most of the largest and otherwise "respected" brands have outsourced their production to sweatshops and have reduced their costs by giving shitty wages, exploiting workers and using bad quality raw materials. Most corporations nowadays would sell bad quality products and spend millions in advertising rather than focus on actually satisfying consumer needs and providing decent incomes to its workers.

You should not look for brands, but for overall quality.

Look to where the products are made, that's usually a hint on their quality. If they are made in first or second world countries like, say, European ones, Japan or Malaysia, they will tend to have better quality than if they are made in, say, Indonesia or China, where most "for-export" production is done by exploited workers in sweatshops belonging to western companies seeking to reduce their production costs. It's sickening.
Reply:It doesn't matter. what matters is the cost and the capacity.
Reply:No but but i perfer sandisk they're cheap yet high quality
