no idea what memory card to buy..
i was thinking of a SanDisk SDSDH-2048-901 2 GB Ultra II Secure Digital Memory Card . dunno if its compatible.
Where can I find a list of memory cards a Canon sd1000 digital camera can accept?
Great choice. The SD1000 accepts ANY "SD" card, including the new SDHC cards. The 2 GB Sandisk Ultra II is exactly what I have for my SD900 and it's what I recommend 90% of the time. Great choice.
Go here, click on the "Specifications" tab and look a little ways down the page for "Image Storage." It will not specify a brand, because all SD cards are interchangeable. Sandisk is one of the best brands, though.

Reply:I just bought SD1000 and i love it, i'm sure you will too. Memory card you should get is SD (Secure Digital Memory Card) Instead of getting a 2GB card i would get a 1GB card and get two of them. Reason for this is, people tend to be lazy and because you have so much memory on 2GB and you can store so much pictures, you probably won't delete the pictures and you'll have thousands of pictures on there, which in time will drive you insane going through all of them. As a practical sense 1GB will take 500 high quality large pictures.
here are couple of links as to where i buy memory cards from.
